RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM

The staff of KCP Technologies listed below led the software development, curriculum development, field testing, and research components of the Dynamic Number project.

DANIEL SCHER
Senior Scientist/Principal Investigator

For the past 20 years, Daniel has focused on the role of Sketchpad in reshaping school mathematics. For this project, he co-wrote the NSF grant and oversaw the direction and output of the work.

SCOTT STEKETEE
Senior Academic Designer

Scott is a former public school mathematics teacher and concurrently with his work at McGraw-Hill, he is an adjunct mathematics methods instructor at the University of Pennsylvania. Scott developed many of the activities for this project.

NICK JACKIW
Director, Technology

Nick is the original creator and designer of The Geometer's Sketchpad. For this project, he led software prototyping efforts and the design of Sketchpad's new multi-touch Dynamic Geometry engine.

MATT LITWIN
Senior Software Engineer

Matt has been programming Dynamic Geometry software products for more than a decade. He acted as the technical lead, heading up engineering for Dynamic Number web-based technical efforts.

JON BROOKS
Software Engineer

Jon has been working on Sketchpad-related products for 6 years. He did a large amount of the engineering work that went into Sketchpad Explorer for the iPad, and also contributed to web development for this project.

JONATHAN SANDOE
Senior Web Developer

Jonathan has deep experience developing software in a variety of contexts. He was responsible for the design and implementation of new web-based features, as well as programming various APIs in support of this project.

SCOTT JOHNSON
Localization and Support Software Engineer

Scott has been a web developer, database administrator, and software engineer for over a decade. He is responsible for build and release processes and server infrastructure for Sketchpad technologies.

Web Developer

Raymond works with most web based technologies, both back- and front-ends. For this project, he collaborated with the design team and built the Dynamic Number website from the ground-up.

IAN ROSENFIELD
QA Analyst

Ian has contributed to QA efforts for many of KCP Technologies’ grant and commercial efforts over the last three years. He was responsible for testing new software development efforts in support of this project.

RICK GASTON
Technical Product Manager

Rick has 25 years of experience as a classroom mathematics teacher and school principal. He provided project management support for the development of new web-based features and functionality for the Dynamic Number project.

HEATHER GOMEZ
SCRUM Master / Technical Product Manager

Heather has 8 years of experience as a project manager for web-based software development projects. For this project, Heather was responsible for managing the product backlog, including creation of the activities and the Dynamic Number website.

CHERYL DODGE
Senior Director, Technical Product Management
